About Us
Here are some things you should know about us.
We are a woman-owned partnership. Our practice includes psychologists, social workers, professional counselors, and a stress management expert.
We work to develop a personal relationship with every client. That's why we always make the initial call to gather information about new clients ourselves.
Some other practices believe that using staff for these calls is more efficient. We believe that making the calls ourselves is a way of getting to know a new client and that it helps us serve you better from the very first session.
We understand that stress and other issues that may cause you to seek a therapist can sometimes be handled more effectively and less expensively in other ways. That's why, in addition to traditional psychological counseling, we offer proven ways to reduce stress such as yoga and mindful meditation, massage, and an alternative to chronic dieting.

OUR ASSOCIATES
Robert Bartek, PhD is a licensed psychologist with offices in Mars (phone 724-625-2210) and Kittanning (phone 724-545-1814). He has been in practice since 1983, working with children, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations providing individual, family and marital treatment.
-
Evaluations and treatment are provided by Dr. Bartek for children and adolescents pertaining to Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), behavioral and mood disorders, organizational, behavioral, and study habits. Daily reports are provided for children with study and attentional problems, while cognitive and behavioral techniques are utilized to help children cope. In addition, referrals are made to medical specialists if medication becomes necessary.
-
In therapy with adults, Dr. Bartek will provide a comprehensive treatment modality. Utilizing psychodynamic techniques to better understand personality issues and interactions with others at home and the workplace helps to provide happiness and success with self and others. In addition, cognitive and behavioral techniques are applied to enhance decision making ability, increase self-esteem and reduce negative thinking and behavioral patterns.
-
When the issue involves a marriage, there is often conflict that seems impossible to resolve. A key element in Dr. Bartek's marital therapy is self understanding of personality traits and how this contributes to conflict within the marriage or dating relationship. Instead of pointing fingers at one another, couples learn to empower themselves to make self changes that enhance the marriage and influence their spouses behavior.
-
Dr Bartek also provides gastric bypass and bonding evaluations.
-
Geriatric clients are helped to optimize their physical and cognitive functioning.
- Dr. Bartek provides custody mediation to help divorced parents work better together and agree on custody arrangements. In addition, treatment for children and families of divorce is also provided.
